President Peng Qiming meets Saudi Arabia Mining Minister

BEIJING,Sep.18(Chinamining)--Peng Qiming, President of China Mining Association, met with the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia,Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef and his team.
 
During the talks, Peng welcomed the visit of Mr.Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef and his team, and highly appreciated the Vision 2030 developing plan formulated by Saudi Arabia. He said that the goals and concepts of the two countries in green development and corporate social responsibility are the same, which is an important foundation for cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia. In order to better promote bilateral cooperation, he put forward a proposal to promote exchanges between the two sides, hoping to establish an exchange mechanism to enhance mutual understanding between the two sides through various means, including preferential policies in terms of resource potential, infrastructure, policies and regulations. He expressed his intention to organize the member companies of the China Mining Association to participate in the "Future Mining Forum" hosted by the Saudi government, and also welcomed His Excellency Minister Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef to attend the 2023 (25th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition.
 
Minister Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef agreed with President Peng's views and introduced the three major focuses of Saudi Arabia's mineral investment strategy. First, focusing on geological surveys, Saudi Arabia welcomes Chinese enterprises to actively participate in geological exploration, survey, exploitation and develop mineral resources; Second, Saudi Arabia's newly promulgated mineral investment law will allow foreign investors to independently invest in their own mineral fields, so that foreign investors can enjoy national treatment or even more preferential treatment; Third, focusing on cooperation between governments of two countries, as well as the collaboration of governments and enterprises in the mining field. The Future Minerals Forum of Saudi aims to achieve common ground and consensus on mining development at the national level by discussing the opportunities and challenges facing the development of the mining industry. He welcomed the China Mining Association and its affiliated members to attend the "Future Mining Forum" to be held in Riyadh, the capital in January next year.
 
Representatives from six Chinese mining enterprises were invited to attend the meeting and gave a brief introduction to the foreign investment cases of the company. Related staff of China Mining Association attended the meeting.
