China’s second largest coal producer China Coal Energy reported fall in output to 6.5m tonnes in August, down 5.1% m-o-m and down 3.7% y-o-y.
Coal output declined to 52.2m tonnes over the first 8 months of the year, down 1.7m tonnes or 3.1% y-o-y.
Coal sales also declined to 11.4m tonnes in August, down 5.8% m-o-m and down 10.5% y-o-y. This takes the coal sales to 85m tonnes over the Jan.-Aug. period, down 4m tonnes or 4.4% y-o-y.
