Iran's non-oil trade with Latin America over 533 mln USD in 7 months

TEHRAN, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Iran traded 800,221 tons of non-oil commodities worth 533.78 million U.S. dollars with Latin American countries during the first seven months (March 21-Oct. 22) of the current Iranian calendar year, Eghtesadonline news website reported on Tuesday.

 
The figures registered a 37.29-percent rise in weight and a 2.05-percent decline in value compared with last year's corresponding period.
 
Iran's exports to the Latin American countries stood at 22.3 million dollars during the period, while the imports totalled 511.48 million dollars.
 
Iran mainly exported semi-finished iron and non-alloy steel products, floorings, textile, pistachio, alabaster, rugs, glassware, bitumen, polystyrene, agricultural machinery and leather.
 
Major commodities imported into Iran from the Latin American states included frozen and boneless cow parts, oilcake, field corn, bananas, tractor parts, soybean, and tobacco.
