Peng Qiming Attended the Sixth China-Africa People’s Forum

BEIJING - The 6th China-Africa People's Forum was opened in Beijing on Monday with the theme “Working together with solidarity and cooperation towards common development and an even stronger China-Africa community with a shared future.” Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, sent a congratulatory letter to the forum. 

Song Tao, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, first read out the  congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping. Ji Bingxuan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of Chinese Association for International Understanding attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech. 

President Macky Sall of Senegal, President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, President  Ndayishimiye of Burundi, President Salva Kiir of South Sudan and other African leaders sent their congratulations to the Forum via video or written form.  
 
About 200 people, including political party leaders, diplomatic envoys to China, leaders of Chinese and African NGOs and scholars from more than 30 African countries, attended the opening session in person or virtually.   
 
The Forum aims to strengthen the exchange of ideas, promote the non-governmental cooperation between people, making contribution to the deepening of China-Africa comprehensive strategic partnership through platforms like China-Africa People’s Forum.

President Peng Qiming and the staff of International Cooperation Department  attended the session virtually.
